Mission Statement

“Our mission is to protect the lives and property of all citizens of Elsa from natural and man-made emergencies

utilizing mitigation efforts, control systems, and support services.”

                                                                 
The Elsa Fire Department is a member of the State Fire Men's and Fire Marshals Association, and is in
the State Fireghters' Pension Commission.

  The following emergency response equipment is
  located at the fire department:
 
                                     6 fire trucks,
2 Pumper trucks,
2 Brush trucks,
1 Tanker,
1 Rescue truck
  

Every fire truck is staffed with a captain, driver and ideally, two firefighters. The helmets are numbered for easy identification. Numbered helmets identify captains, and red helmets are for drivers and firefighters. The Fire Department has several levels of chiefs.


The Fire Department is actively involved with the community. The Fire Department will perform free home safety inspections upon request. The Public Education Officer and Fire Prevention Inspectors give free fire safety presentations for citizens, schools and organizations.  Fire Department member's participate with firefighters nationwide in the annual Muscular Dystrophy "Fill the Boot" Campaign.
